Day 1: Arrival Kilimanjaro - Arusha - Lake Manyara
Welcome to Tanzania. Upon arrival, meet your guide at the airport and take a 45-minute drive to Arusha.
Arusha is the central city in northern Tanzania and is considered the capital of tourism in the country. In addition to its proximity to safari areas, Arusha has much to offer on its own. The lush green surroundings, diverse ethnic groups, and markets, including the Maasai arts market, are significant for African history, culture, and local cuisine.
Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
Afterwards, we will continue with a 3-hour drive to Lake Manyara, one of the Great Rift Valley lakes in Tanzania. The area is home to hippos, monkeys, unique tree-climbing lions, pink flamingos, and other wildlife.
Dinner and overnight stay in Manyara.
Day 2: Lake Manyara - Serengeti
After breakfast, we will enjoy a morning safari in the national park, observing the morning habits of the wildlife within the reserve. Packed lunch included.
Following our safari, we will embark on a two-hour drive to the vast Serengeti National Park, known as “the endless plains” in Swahili. This is the second-largest reserve in Tanzania. Here, we will encounter a variety of wildlife, including giraffes, elephants, antelopes, and various predators. The Serengeti is also famous for hosting the last great migration in the world, where entire herds of wildebeest and zebras move through the park in search of food, heading towards neighboring Kenya.
Dinner will be served at the lodge.
Overnight stay in the Serengeti.
Day 3: Serengeti - The Heart of the Savannah
After breakfast, we will set out to explore the vast grasslands of the Serengeti, where a diverse array of wildlife characterizes the African savannah of Tanzania. Here, we will encounter various animals, including herds of zebras and antelopes living side by side, as well as lions lounging in the shade.
Lunch will be served at the lodge.
In the afternoon, we will embark on another safari drive, providing opportunities for additional wildlife observations in Serengeti National Park.
Dinner will be served at the lodge.
Overnight stay in Serengeti.
Day 4: Serengeti - Olduvai Gorge - Maasai Tribe - Ngorongoro
After breakfast, we will depart for a drive of approximately two and a half hours to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most beautiful attractions in northern Tanzania. The crater was formed 2-3 million years ago due to a volcanic collapse, creating a natural habitat for diverse wildlife.
On the way, we will stop at Olduvai Gorge, located midway between the Serengeti and Ngorongoro. This site is famous for the discovery of the first Homo habilis remains by the Leakey family in the 1960s, after 25 years of searching for evidence of human origins in northern Tanzania. It was their 19-year-old son who ultimately found a lower jaw with 13 teeth that confirmed their research.
After our visit to Olduvai, we will continue our journey to Ngorongoro, where lunch will be served at the lodge.
Upon arrival, we will visit a Maasai village located in Ngorongoro. The culture and traditional way of life of the Maasai have been preserved for generations. The Maasai are known for their distinctive attire, particularly their red shuka (cloaks). This rich and sophisticated society holds deep human values.
Dinner will be served at the lodge. Overnight stay in Ngorongoro.
Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater
After breakfast, we will descend 600 meters into the crater floor of the Ngorongoro Crater for a rich safari experience and a chance to encounter Africa’s wildlife up close. The crater, known for its stunning natural beauty, is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including lions, elephants, zebras, and the rare black rhino. As we explore the lush grasslands, swamps, and dense forests, keep your camera ready to capture the breathtaking scenery and the vibrant animal life.
A packed lunch will be included, allowing us to enjoy a meal surrounded by the sights and sounds of nature.
Following our day of exploration, we will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 6: Ngorongoro - Tarangire
After breakfast, we will embark on a drive of approximately four hours to Tarangire National Park. Lunch will be served at the lodge upon arrival.
In the afternoon, we will go on a safari in the unique landscapes of Tarangire, which is home to a diverse array of wildlife. You may encounter kudu and eland antelopes, the gerenuk (a type of giraffe-like antelope), tree-climbing lions, hippos, and various other animals that inhabit the park, particularly during the migration season. The park is also dotted with ancient baobab trees and vast open spaces, creating a stunning backdrop for our wildlife observations.
Dinner will be served at the lodge. Overnight stay in Tarangire.
Day 7: Tarangire - Arusha - Airport
After breakfast, we will drive back to Arusha. We will conclude our safari experience with lunch at a local restaurant.
Afterwards, depending on your flight schedule, we will transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
