A customized 7-day India and Rajasthan tour begins in Delhi, where we’ll explore both New and Old Delhi. We’ll then travel to Agra to visit the iconic Taj Mahal, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The journey continues to Jaipur, the “Pink City” and capital of Rajasthan, and on to Pushkar, one of Hinduism’s five holiest sites, where we’ll explore the lake area and the magnificent Brahma Temple. Returning to Delhi, we’ll conclude with visits to the Lotus Temple and Akshardham Temple. This journey offers a vibrant experience of India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage. With a private English-speaking guide and a dedicated driver, the tour is tailored for an unforgettable journey at your own pace and style.

Day 1

Day 1: Arrival - Kochi - Munnar

Upon landing in Kochi, one of the key coastal cities in South India, you’ll discover a place rich in history and culture. Kochi is home to a vibrant Jewish community, one of the most unique and historically significant Jewish diasporas in the world.

 

After meeting our representative at the airport, we will embark on a journey of approximately five hours to Munnar. Located about 130 kilometers east of Kochi at an altitude of over 1,500 meters, Munnar became a popular hill station during the British colonial era, thanks to its pleasant climate. The area is surrounded by sprawling tea plantations that were established by the British, with over 80% of the tea estates now owned by the Tata family, renowned worldwide primarily for their automobile industry.

 

Upon arrival in Munnar, we will transfer to the hotel for check-in.

Day 2

Day 2: Munnar - Eravikulam National Park - Tea Plantations

After breakfast, we will set out to visit Eravikulam National Park, covering approximately 100 square kilometers and surrounding the peak of Anamudi, the highest mountain in South India. The park is renowned for its diverse flora and fauna, including the endangered Nilgiri Tahr.

 

Following our exploration of the park, we will head to the old town of Munnar. Here, we will visit the local Catholic church, the Tea Museum, and the bustling central market, where you can experience the vibrant local culture.

 

Next, we will visit the tea plantations and enjoy a circular walking trail through the lush greenery, local villages, and breathtaking views. This immersive experience will allow us to appreciate the beauty of Munnar and its rich tea heritage.

 

After our day of adventure, we will return to the hotel for the night.

Day 3

Day 3: Munnar - Kumarakom

After breakfast, we will embark on a 4-hour drive to Kumarakom, located on the banks of the beautiful Vembanad Lake, approximately 75 kilometers from Kochi. Kumarakom is a hidden paradise nestled among coconut trees, known for its serene backwaters and lush landscapes.

 

Upon arrival, we will check into our hotel, and the remainder of the day will be free for you to relax and explore the serene surroundings.

Day 4

Day 4: Kumarakom - Rural Experience

After breakfast, we will embark on a serene boat ride through the backwaters of Kumarakom. During our journey, we will visit a local village, where we can meet the residents and learn about their traditional way of life.

 

The remainder of the day will be free for you to relax and explore the natural beauty surrounding you.

Day 5

Day 5: Kumarakom - Houseboat Experience

After breakfast, we will board a Kettuvalam, a traditional houseboat that has been modernized for comfort. These boats feature spacious bedrooms, bathrooms, a kitchen, and a dining area, making for a cozy experience on the water.

 

As we cruise along the picturesque backwaters, we will observe the daily lives of the locals and the diverse wildlife that inhabits the area. The experience includes overnight accommodation on the boat, with lunch and dinner served on deck, allowing you to savor the beauty of Kumarakom while enjoying local cuisine.

Day 6

Day 6: Houseboat Cruise - Kochi

Early risers can enjoy the stunning sunrise as breakfast is served on board.

 

We will conclude our houseboat experience by early afternoon and then take a one-hour drive to Kochi.

 

Upon arrival, we will transfer to the hotel for some relaxation.
After freshening up, we will embark on a tour of Kochi, one of the most fascinating cities in South India, known for its unique cultural tapestry and location. The city features narrow, winding streets lined with Portuguese-style houses, vibrant bars, and neon-lit avenues, alongside a historic Jewish community, a synagogue, and the church where Vasco da Gama was buried.

 

We will visit the synagogue and the small Jewish community that still resides in the area. Next, we will explore the Dutch Palace and marvel at the picturesque Chinese fishing nets.

 

In the evening, we will enjoy a traditional Kathakali performance, a captivating dance form characterized by its elaborate makeup and expressive storytelling. After the performance, we will return to the hotel.

Day 7

Day 7: Kochi - Departure

After breakfast, we will transfer to the airport according to your flight schedule for your return journey home.
